We are moving premises, as our premises have just proved too big post covid and are half empty generally. My director is adamant we need disabled access in our new premises (which are rented and hopefully temporary).  To provide this is is expensive, and in my 3 years at the charity we have had 2 clients who have needed disabled access. We now offer online counselling as a result of the pandemic so we are accessible to all. Are we legally obliged to offer disabled access does anyone know? From what I can tell from the Equality Act we aren't legally obliged to offer physical access.
Thank you .
he Equality Act 2010 says changes or adjustments should be made to ensure you can access the following things if you’re disabled:
  • education
  • employment - ask your employer for adjustments
  • housing - ask for adjustments in your home
  • goods and services like shops, banks, cinemas, hospitals, council offices, leisure centres
  • associations and private clubs like the Scouts and Guides, private golf clubs and working men clubs.
