Fundraising Manager, Relationship Manager - combined or separate roles??

Elliott Plowman Deputy Director at The Bridge Youth Project Posted 2 months ago

Hey everyone,
I look after a well established (30 years) schools based charity in the South of England. We have gone through a significant period of growth over a short period.
To date we have not required a really structured fundraising strategy, however we now do, and we'll need some dedicated resource to support this.
Do I look to recruit a fundraising manager (donor aquisition) and relationship manager (existing donors) as separate roles, or one role combining both? Having done research I can see both models exist, but not sure will be most effective for our charity.
Any thoughts/advice appreciated.
Thanks
Elliott
