Hello everyone,
Two quotes I wanted to share today. They're from Dr. Beth Breeze from the University of Kent on giving during hard times:
1: ""There's never a shortage of donors, but there is a shortage of fundraisers."
2: ""Even during crisis there are givers. Some people profit during crisis, others (especially religious) prioritise giving always, and some just give less."
During this cost-of-living crisis, we may see our donations go down, but what if donors just want to give less? Could we be losing out on donations because we're asking for too much? Or we're not giving donors the opportunity to downgrade?
What if donors want the opportunity to give because they know that those in poverty have it even worse than they do?
Trust their donations will be used well is top of mind for supporters. Stories showing the emotional impact of our work is the best way to gain their trust.
