Handmade knitted teddies

I have a question regarding handmade knitted/crocheted teddies.
People send us donations of these items and I wondered whether there are any restrictions on what we can do with them?
For example, a family support practitioner from a local family hub has asked if we'd be able to donate some to her. They would be used in their therapy interventions for children and when they offer support programmes such as dealing with feelings and emotions etc. As part of the work, they would like to give the children a worry bear to take home with them.
Would we be able to donate the handmade bears to them? They are made by various crafters and do not have any kind of safety label attached.
I would appreciate some advice if anyone has faced a similar enquiry.
