This question is from a member of our community that wishes to remain anonymous:
Fellow dyslexics or anybody in a leadership position who can provide constructive advice.
I work for a small health charity in an information position, but I am looking to advance my career to another health charity or company. So much of what health charities do involves written communication, whether that is information, research, policy or public affairs. So far my dyslexia has not been a major problem but I can see for myself how many silly mistakes I make regularly.
I think would make great management/lead but I feel very conscious about the writing and proof reading side and if feel it is holding me back. How much of this 'feeling' is realistic and how have other managers/bosses without dyslexia and people with dyslexia navigated this. I already utilise tools like ChatGTP and Grammarly to improve my writing, which has certainly been very helpful.
