Loan to charity from a volunteer

Finance

Mobasher Choudhary Project lead at INTERYem Posted 1 year ago

Hi.  We have a CAF bank account.  We have been awarded a grant, but the awarding organisation has been very slow to actually to pass it on.  We have started a project in anticipation of the grant.
Would it be ok for me (as a volunteer/manager) loan the charity the money from business account to the charity, i.e. deposit the amount into the charity CAF bank account? And then when the grant is actually received, to ask the trustees to give the same amount that I loaned (interest free) back to my account, either business of personal?
I am just wondering how that would look from the point of view of the Charity Commission?
Clarify- it is my own business account, unrelated to the charity.
