I am Chair of a small London based charity and we have a current debate about sharing of the minutes of trustee boards with our 6 exec colleagues. We appreciate it would sometimes be necessary to redact parts of minutes for confidentiality or to protect sensitive information. But it seems sharing of the minutes will help staff to understand the challenges that trustees deal with and why sometimes we are not able to support things the staff want to introduce.

Just wondering what is current best practice among charities. Do you share minutes with staff ? Do you maybe share minutes more widely ? And what feedback do you have ?
