This question is from a member of our community that wishes to remain anonymous:
We are a small charity who have a great manager but she is being constantly and necessarily undermined by our trustees.
The board has recently signed up trustees who are all friends of each other yet have rejected an application from someone who lives the charity, on the basis that they think they were once in a relationship with a member of staff. They came to this conclusion based solely on hearsay & failed to address the concern directly with the applicant, and will not reply to the applicant's question of where the information has come from.
However, one of the trustees is already very good friends with a current member of staff. I feel we have a very unbalanced board of trustees who are, in the majority, acting unethically but when concerns are raised they ignore them. Has anyone had this problem?
