VAT on Event Tickets

Finance

Donna Deans Fundraising Team Leader at Charlie House Posted 2 years ago

Hello - hope you are all well.  I have a question, one of our corporate supporters is hosting a dance for us to raise money.  They have targeted their ticket price at £50 and it is for staff and family.  Their accounts team has said they need to add on VAT to the ticket price and they are a bit flummoxed as that would add onto the price quite a bit.  Do they need to do this?  Is there a way around it??  Any help appreciated.  Many thanks
