Last year, I took a coaching course that helped me define where I wanted to go over the course of the year. But as Burns famously put it, and my 2018 did, the best laid schemes of mice and men can oft go awry. That is no reason to stop planning, however. I’ve got my Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019 journal, and signed up for a one-day course in January to kick-start my creativity, re-ignite my spark, and make the most of 2019.
What’s a year without a massive challenge? I came across the blog posts of a former colleague whilst she was on this programme, and they really inspired me. It’s the kind of thing which pushes you out of your comfort zone and raises your inner imposter-syndrome spectre, so it feels like exactly the right thing for me to try and apply for this year!
One of the most inspiring moments of my 2018 was listening to Dr Paul Cosford and Michelle Dench speak at Macmillan. Their words and actions have really stayed with me, and I am so excited to raise money for Macmillan, and do so by doing something my Dad and have talked about for a very long time - taking a hike!
