Writing a Strong Supporting Letter for Funding Applications

Trusts & Grants

Chaim Grunnfeld Admin at Chizuk Posted 1 year ago

Hi everyone,
Chizuk is a charity that has been supporting our community's mental and physical wellbeing for 28 years. In recent years, our activities and funding have significantly declined due to the loss and illness of many trustees and volunteers. Despite this, our dedicated volunteers have continued to provide vital support without financial backing. We now have a new team of trustees and volunteers who are working hard to rejuvenate the charity.
Here's a brief summary of what I am considering including in our supporting letter:
·        History and Achievements - Chizuk has a long history of successfully supporting thousands of individuals through various projects focused on mental and physical health.
·        Financial Background - Previously, we received substantial funding from multiple sources, but our funding and activities have declined significantly in the last few years.
·        Current Position - Despite limited financial resources, our volunteers have continued to provide crucial support, maintaining the charity's reputation and ethical standards.
·        Rejuvenation Efforts - With a new team of qualified trustees and volunteers, we are committed to revitalising Chizuk. Our initiatives include client advocacy, crisis support, low-cost counselling, psychological awareness programs, physical wellness activities, and support for young adults.
Could you please advise me on what key points and details should be included in a supporting letter for funding applications? Are there any specific elements or examples you find particularly effective based on your experience?
Thank you!
