CharityConnect: A CHANCE TO HELP WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN KENYA
You may have heard of the popular 'Below the Line Challenge' where people live below the poverty line to raise money for The Hunger Project. Well this is pretty similar...
From the 20th September 2018, I’ll be taking on the 'Sukuma Wiki' ('Stretch the Week') Challenge. It’s more popularly known as The Kale Challenge. I’ll be eating a typical Kenyan diet - nothing but Kale, Kidney Beans, Tomatoes, Flour and Garlic for a week. Cooking oil, salt and pepper are all fair game too.
All proceeds will go to Child.org - a London-based international children’s charity who use sustainable, data-led programmes to helping children in some of the world’s poorest countries and, more specifically, helping Kenyan mums to feed their families.
I'd be so grateful if you could sponsor my fundraising challenge. Please visit my individual fundraising page here:
https://child.org/me/als-kale-and-co-challenge
Luckily, I won’t be taking on Sukuma Wiki alone! I am forming a team of fundraisers to help multiply our fundraising impact for Kenyan women. All of them will do the challenge remotely, so you can participate whatever your location! They are all excited at the prospect of demonstrating their resourcefulness by living off a frugal diet for 7 days. If you’re keen, I would love to have you on board and bringing in sponsorship from your friends for an outstanding cause. Whether you raise £50 or £100, it is all vital funds going in the right direction! I can help you fundraise.
You can join my fundraising team here:
https://child.org/me/team/live-below-line-1
Whoever is able to raise £100 will get a Child.org bag and a Kale Cake baked by me (I have a recipe).
Whoever hits the £200 mark will receive a Child.org T-Shirt and Kale Cake and discounted tickets to my upcoming public fundraising event. Anyone who joins my team will also be welcome to join us for food and drinks once the challenge is over.
If you don’t fancy joining, I’d greatly appreciate your sponsorship or recipe ideas for the challenge. I’d also love it if you could recommend anybody who you think might be interested in sponsoring me or joining my fundraising team. Alternatively, if there's some place you would recommend that I share news of my fundraising challenge to bring in more support that'd be great.

Thank you.
