Our Sector has its own events (online and in person) where you can get support, advice and learn lots of new skills that will help your organisation grow - if not just survive. That number though (of events) is small compared with the 'seminars' that are offered in the Commercial World. They though do give us an opportunity to take part and up-skill (alongside all those with a profit motive) as a lot of the expertise will help us as much as it helps 'them'. Its transferable!
Next week there are three such major 'commercial' events (all of them are free to attend). One of these, this one, is one I really do recommend you take a look at.
Its all about 'A/B Testing'. What this actually means is that anything you put into the Digital World needs to be done carefully, and 'tested' to see if it works well, actually the best it can.

For those of you who are tiny, a possible three days sitting looking at a computer is almost certainly a 'no-no'. You just don't have the time, even if (because conferences like this are US based) the timings (for us) are mid afternoon into early evening. If this is you, there is one possible solution in that, unlike an in-person conference, all the presentations will be recorded and then made available on-demand (think I-Player but usually 90 days+ instead of 30, to catch-up).

For those Charity Connect Members who have Marketing or Digital Comms in their Job title, and work with more than a handful of volunteers and other staff, do take a look at the Speaker line-up (maybe search a few Linkedin profiles) and you'll find that many presenters are at the very top of their fields. Your CEO needs to give you some time to 'attend'!

You might want to rewrite the title -
Optimize your digital experiences and grow revenue
into something like
Optimize your supporters digital experiences and grow engagement and donations
and say to them that you can't attend all of the 30+ presentations (you should get a degree if you do so!) but these are some of the key ones to consider -
That's Irrational! Why Selling (engaging - our Sectors' better word) To The Logical Brains Won't Get Results
is from someone called Tim Ash who, if you could afford him, will get you a web site (and social media) that is ass close to perfect as possible
This gentleman - Flint McGlaughlin - will come across as very serious and in-depth - but he again has proven credentials as being a top expert on how to test assumptions you (or your CEO - sorry CEOs!) might make, and then do the 'right thing' -
A/B Testing Swipe Files: Transformative discoveries from 73 marketing experiments to help you increase conversion
I'd look our for this presentation -
Demystifying AI for Marketers: How to Leverage Artificial Intelligence to Increase Leads, Lift Conversions and Optimize Websites
and this one
How to Use Google Analytics to Track ALL of Your Marketing
and this one as well
What to Do if You Don't Know What to Say on Your Website

I do appreciate it is going to be a 'hard sell' to both be allowed time to attend - that is if you can ever find it (the time that is) - but these are some of the very best in their fields and their advice (what you learn) will make a difference

Hope to see some familiar names on the attendee list!

Have a great week everyone
