Affordable meeting room/venue recommendations

Many charities are now venturing back into the world of in-person events for the first time since Covid.

Since it can be difficult to find venues that are affordable and have great reviews, I thought this thread could become a resource for people to share their recommendations and gain an insight as to what is out there (ideally in London, but recommendations for other cities are welcome😊).

My local Waitrose has a Community Room which they hire out free of charge to local charities and organisations. It is only available during store hours but comes fully equipped with AV equipment, conference tables and a flipchart. They will also provide drinks/refreshments at charge.

De Morgan House in Russell Square offers a 20% discount on room hire and AV equipment to charities and non-profits. As they are the home of the London Mathematical Society, mathematical charities are offered a 40% discount on room hire and AV equipment.

There are four main conference rooms and a garden area out the rear! More info can be found here.

We are based at the heart of Westminster with a 72 year history of supporting our local community. We have a great selection of rooms within our community centre for anything up to 180 people. Please take a look at www.theabbeycentre.org.uk

All income generated from our conference room hire and community cafe goes back in to the charity.

Depending on the size you need of course... but we have been very happy with Mary Sumner House, Westminster https://www.mothersunion.org/conference-rooms and also The Emmanuel Centre https://www.emmanuelcentre.com/ both within a minute of each other. Spaces for up to 120. Catering onsite at EC as well.
