Can people with unspent convictions join a charity committee?

Governance

Anonymous user Posted 3 months ago

Does anyone have any experience of including people with unspent convictions in leadership positions (not paid - as part of a voluntary management committee) in a charity?
Our charity works with many members who have offending histories - we have a Trustee Board but also a Management Committee of beneficiaries who guide the work of the organisation and we would like people to be able to be members of that group so their important perspectives are included.
Does anyone do this?
