Charity trust to CIO bank accounts

Finance

Gillian Alcock Honorarium Secretary at Proceeds of Sale Temperance Hall Posted 1 year ago

We are looking at changing from a Charity Trust to a CIO purely to safeguard the trustees from liabilities. This seems to be different for different kinds of charity trust in terms  of transferring assets. We have a capital pot distributed between various banks at the moment to gain interest this interest is given to various organisations at the end of the financial year.
We are not changing the Name of the trust or its purpose so why to we need to open a new bank account to transfer assets? Help please anyone I understand  change over charity commission  process need to be done. But don't see the how it effects the banking process .
We have no endemnaties  or members, or employees.
Thanks Gillian
