CIC start up to lease a community centre help

CIC

Rachael Robinson Volunteer at Sports Hub Posted 1 year ago

I'm looking for some advice on a community building. I am writing to you as a volunteer of a Sports Hub.
Our Sports Hub is a volunteer-run non-profit unincorporated association along with the Saxilby Recreation Charity, that is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Memorial Recreational Field in a village near Lincoln, which has been the main sports facility in the Village since it opened in 1921. We will soon be changing to a CIC. It's is a very active community with a great sporting history and the Field is the central ‘hub’ to the Village which offers facilities for all age groups. The Field plays host to the Village Tennis Club, Bowls Club, football teams, cricket teams and also a children’s equipped play area, skate park as well as being a large green open amenity space for everyone to enjoy.
The Parish Council are no longer involved in the running of the Memorial Recreation Field. And are in talks to leave the community centre which is on the recreation field land. This community centre can not be sold, however if the council leave then this will close the community centre which puts the sports clubs at risk of not being able to carry on as the charity do not have any funds to keep this open.
Is there anything available for us as the sports hub under a CIC to keep this building open which will also keep the sports clubs going?
