We have a dispute with our auditor over the status (Restricted or not) of a particular type of funding - actually an Enforcement Undertaking, which is a legal penalty imposed by the EA resulting in a payment to a charity (us in this case).
Our auditor insists that this is restricted, yet all of the evidence we accumulate says that these are Unrestricted funds.
Is there anyone we can approach to get an authoritative opinion that the auditor would have to accept?
These payments are relatively rare and I can't find anything in the Charities SORP that refers to them :-)
