Hi there
We are a small charity whose income mostly comes via a permanent endowment. When applying for other sources of funding we have been told we need to have a dissolution clause within our governance statement. We have prepared such a clause, but the Charity Commission will not approve it, as it says that we can't dispose of the permanent endowment.
This doesn't make much sense to us, because if the Charity has to close, then what else can we do other than dispose of the permanent endowment?
So, are there any charities out there with a permanent endowment that have an acceptable (to the Charity Commission) dissolution clause that they wold be happy to share with us?
