Does any one remember TOM (tomorrows shoes?) What legal model was this? HELP!

Thomas Philip Architect/QS at IGLOO FOAM SHEDS Posted 4 months ago

I am developing a type of garden shed hoping to disrupt the Garden Pod; Garden Room market. Its called IGLOO = and its a FOAM SHED and as a "one for one" model the main products are called GARDEN IGLOO and the donated products to rough sleepers are called STREET IGLOO and they are just smaller and thinner.
I have some questions about what sort of company this will be; I only just learnt that TOMS is for profit; and they have a foundation that they give 30% net profits to; (and this has come under some criticism because the accountants can fudge the numbers to make it look like they don't make profits)
I was under the impression it was a simple "one for one" model; and when I was a kid people we wearing them saying "they gave another pair of shoes to a shoeless African child". But it seems this is not right; and I have done all this work without actually researching TOMS actual business model....... you go on Wikipedia the first thing it says its TOMS is "for profit".

I am an architect by trade and I used to be a QS; I have an existing property renovation company. I cannot decide on what company structure will work; and what will be cheapest and easiest to set up.
1. GARDEN IGLOO as a for profit - and STREET IGLOO as a charity; but it seems this might be a conflict of interest for grant funding reasons.
2. IGLOO as just a social enterprise. No charity status.
3. GARDEN IGLOO & STREET IGLOO as a charity or CIC; and get grant finding to build the walls and roof and floor; and then have another company as a more traditional builders company that can do plastering and windows and tiling and whatever maintenance there may be going forwards.
4. GARDEN IGLOO as a CLS (limited by shares) and STREET IGLOO as a CIC (there is no income in this company, other than donation and the 20% fee taken from GARDEN IGLOOs.
5. IGLOO as a charity; and have separate foam shed and foam construction companies as sub contractors that come in later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want two thing to be true at the same time. I want to be able to have the aftercare and modifications as always an investable and scaleable business; and I want the initial building to be a charitable mission. The goal is to end homelessness and the way I see it; garden annexes that are cheap and widespread enough is the only way to do it. Nobody trusts rough sleepers in their own house. We all talk a good game about how awful it is; but really nobody is willing to house them; but some people I have learnt would be happy for them to use a garden shed if it were warm enough and didn't need heating. ( like a passive house).
Also I don't want to break the law - I was a kid when people were wearing TOMS shoes; my name is Tom so I remembered it and always thought it was cool  - does anyone have any information on what went wrong for them?
