Have Other Charities Faced Sudden Bank Account Closures? Seeking Advice and Recommendations

Hi everyone our charity has just experienced the abrupt closure of our bank account for the second time, and we were given no clear explanation either time. This has caused serious disruptions to our operations, and we’re now urgently looking for a more reliable banking partner that understands the needs and nature of charitable organisations.
I wanted to reach out to see if other charities have faced similar challenges:
- Have you ever had your charity’s bank account closed unexpectedly?
- Were you able to find out why, and how did you resolve the situation?
- Can you recommend any banks (especially those with a good understanding of the charity sector) that have been stable and supportive for your organisation?
