Internal Communicators – how are you navigating increasingly complex tech landscapes?

Comms

Ed Reed Internal Communications Officer at Action for Children Posted 4 months ago

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re keeping well. I work in the Internal Communications Team at Action for Children and am reaching out to see if anyone is willing to share any experiences, or offer any guidance or insights, around operating in an increasingly complex tech landscape with evolving tech requirements, and the associated comms requirements.
We are seeing a really significant increase in the time we are devoting as a team to communications around our systems and processes, and the volume of comms going out to staff on both. In short, something that used to sit very much in the background has come to the fore, and requirements around tech comms have really ramped up for us.
I’m very keen to understand the practical ways other communications teams are operating in and navigating increasingly complex tech landscapes. I‘d be particularly interested in how to:
  • Manage the volume and complexity of communications related to large system implementations.
  • Similar to the above – how to manage the volume and complexity related to large systems that are already established.
  • Balance system-related communications with other critical initiatives and ensure an emphasis on telling the story of our charity.
  • Effectively support staff in environments now using large-scale, complex systems.
Thanks in advance for any support, guidance, insights, experiences, or advice you can share.
Ed
