Hi all,
A friend of mine is looking to set up a new charity ASAP, and was thinking of a CIO. However, the Charity Commission states that their reply time is currently 45 days, so he'll needs another vehicle in the short term.
My initial thoughts were to set up a CLG in the short term, then transfer the assets to the CIO once incorporated. But if they've already set up a CLG, would it make more sense to convert to a CCLG? Or is there an even better option to get them up and running now, then incorporate as a charity in the near future? (They're likely to exceed the financial thresholds for an unincorporated charity.)
I'm looking at CIC/BenCom too. But don't yet know enough about his plans to know whether they'd suit.
Cheers,
Robb
