One of the things I am finding is slowing down our onboarding process is the right to work check our organisation carries out. Is this common practice in other organisations with volunteers? There are so few circumstances where someone would not be allowed to volunteer in the UK it hardly seems worth it? Is there something I am missing or would stopping doing is cut out some admin, save some money and get people onboarded in a more timely manner? Is there a risk we would be fined if someone, for example, with visa restrictions, volunteered for us when they were not elligible?
