Private Site Donations - Do we need a permit? (Edinburgh, Scotland)

Events

Emily Graham Fundraising and Communications Lead at U-evolve Posted 2 years ago

We've been invited to host a "pop-up" information stall in the offices of several Corporates. We will be taking collection tins and a card machine, and people will be able to buy cakes from a bakery with a percentage coming to us. We're in Edinburgh, Scotland and wondering if we need a permit for this? As it is on a private site, I don't think we do as long as we have the owner's permission but hoping someone can please advise? Thank you!

If you have been invited it's likely that it has been checked as a permitted activity to take place on their premises.  The only usual caveats are to make sure you have insurance to cover you if you caused an incident in which another party was injured.
