Recommendations for current & savings bank accounts

Finance

Andrew Wright Treasurer at Chelmsford Garden Community Trust Posted 2 years ago

Hi,
We currently have a bank account with COOP (Community DirectPlus) which tends to be rather clunky in use. Coupled with the absolutely abysmal customer service we receive, it's time to look for something different. I feel we should also have a separate savings account for accumulated reserves rather than having everything lumped into the same account.
I have undertaken some research but it's always best to hear from users and their experiences. I was looking at Unity Trust bank whose service is slick with good customer service (we use them at our local Council) but there is no product specifically for charities and for our turnover,  we would be paying a fair chunk of money in fees, which is money we just don't have.
Ideally we need a current account and a savings account (doesn't need to be instant access) that is easy to use for online banking, has dual authorisation and has at least some form of basic customer service. And either no or very low fees.

I would be grateful for any recommendations or experiences.
Many thanks
