This question is from a member of our community that wishes to remain anonymous:
I’m looking for suggestions or referrals for individuals or organisations who can carry out a truly independent grievance investigation for a small charity.
The situation involves concerns raised by a staff member regarding governance and trustee conduct. The charity’s usual HR provider is contracted to the organisation and therefore not suitable in this case. We are seeking someone external, impartial, and not previously connected to the charity.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone experienced in investigating grievances in the voluntary sector, particularly where concerns involve senior leadership or the board. ACAS standards of independence, procedural fairness, and confidentiality are key.
If anyone has used a particular consultant, HR professional, or investigator in a similar context and would be willing to share details or feedback, I’d be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.
