Simple CRM database software for small charities?

Hello, it's advice I'm after!
Does anyone have any good tips/places and ways to research a relatively simple CRM database for a very new, small but rapidly growing charity?
I'm Fundraising and Comms rather than IT and it is highly probable the database will be set up by volunteers, albeit IT capable ones, so any ideas welcome.
