Tips on using Donation Manager

I wondered if anyone can share their experience of using Donation Manager. We are considering using it for a very small charity to collect donations, subscriptions and payments for events.
I've tried to set up a log in but have not heard back from Donation Manager despite allowing a week to elapse and contacting them by email. I'm finding this worrying. I appreciate it's a free service but we may come to rely on it and the lack of responsive support has to be a concern.
Is it worth persevering? Many thanks in advance.
