After 17 years in Media & Events selling Exhibition Space, Sponsorship, Print & Digital Media, I am now looking to move into the charity sector as I feel my experience has a lot of transferable skills. Having had several interviews I have not yet been able to secure a role due to "lack of experience in the charity sector" according to feedback. To gain experience I need a role/to gain a role I need experience! Has anyone got any tips that could help? Also why do recruiters interview candidates without sector experience if that is a primary requirement?
