Can anyone recommend any project management and/or leadership and management training that would be well regarded in the charity sector?
I've been looking at Prince 2 Foundation and the CMI / ILM certificates?
I'm an experienced volunteer manager - managing volunteer-led services, working directly with service users and volunteers at a local level - and would like to progress to managing a team of volunteer coordinators at a regional or national level with more project management and strategic responsibilities.
I now have a supportive National Volunteer Manager, who is keen to support my development and provide opportunities work on some of her projects so I can gain experience, but I'm keen to do some training too - and am open to any other development ideas!
I love volunteer management, but have found it to be a bit of a niche and often a solo role or small team, so have found it difficult to create development opportunities at work until recently. I'd be keen to hear of others' experience and from anyone in more senior volunteer management roles.
