At the end of a year many companies like to look back - and forward - and there are a number of marketing and communication software suppliers (from the commercial world) who collate together expertise and some detailed case studies to give special guides to what to expect in the New Year.

Please don't click off because I've mentioned the Private Sector. One such case study is from a single person - a lady called Kristen Waggener - who runs the Communications for the City of Lenuxa, part of the suburbs of Kansas City in the US. She does this really on her own and what she has achieved - 97% increase in engagement year-on-year (+ other notable stats) - is incredible, especially when considering the constraints she has to work to.

Lenuxa is around 55 000 people. Kristen works in the Public Sector so she is bound by just the same sort of policy, procedure and 'careful' strategizing that happens here in the UK (in our local services) and with perhaps a more aggressive generic use of social media than over here. It can be a litigious environment when things go wrong.

The webinar recording is No 3 and titled 'Planning' on this web page. Kristen only presents for 20 minutes then answers questions for another 10. In the presentation itself, Kristen its brilliant, showing exactaly what she does in a completely non 'teaching' manner. She says she's shy but she is so genuine. That's why she has accomplished all that her community (and employers) want.

Take a look at the other presentations, if you have time. None runs over 30 minutes. No 1 - 'Inspiration' - is all about Top Social Trends in 2019 and No 6 ('Inspiration' - Lessons Learned: 10 Ways I’m Doing Social Better in 2019) are good .

Hope this helps - especially if you are that 'team of one'' in what could be as large an organisation as the City of Lenuxa.
