I'm a co-founder and director of a CIC which is looking to change legal structure to a SCIO (we're in Scotland). Myself and my co-founder are paid for some of the work we do for the organisation. I know changing legal structure would make it harder but not impossible for us to be trustees for the new SCIO and still be paid for our work, if we were in the minority on the board. 

My question is has anyone made a similar change and has anyone got any best practice suggestions/experience as to how we structure ourselves. Do we become trustees or take executive roles and feed into the board of trustees. We've worked so hard to get to this point I don't want to do the wrong thing and the organisation crumbles. Thanks
