Looking for help and as much as I can learn about the sector

I have had a very successful career working for some of the biggest UK entrepreneurs as well as running my own business and I am now actively looking for a position where I can use my skill set in a more altruistic arena. My experience volunteering has confirmed that my particular work experience, skill set, and personality are very aligned, appropriate and transferrable to this sector, above all I CARE.

I have been short-listed several times for roles in this sector and each time the position has gone to the more "conventional" applicant. Seems I am either overqualified or else haven't got the "charity" professional experience, I'm soldiering on however any advice greatly appreciated :)
