Charity bank account - fees vs no fees

CharityConnect: Charity bank account - fees vs no fees
It's a dilemma between cost saving at source and cost saving in time...
We have a Virgin Money Club & Society account which is free, ie no monthly charge - but should a member of staff need to buy anything of value on line the transaction needs to be authorised by a nominated colleague who has to stop what they're doing to speak to the bank to  get the the transaction authorised - clunky at best, frustrating and definitely not an efficient use of staff time...
In the current climate every penny is precious so would love to know does your bank charge a monthly fee, and if so, can you give an idea of how much, or does your bank support your charity work by giving their account to you for free?
If you do pay a monthly fee, do you feel it's value for money?
Really appreciate your thoughts - if we need to change to a new bank the transfer will need to be ratified (if that's the right word) by the trustees.
