Can we create our own documents for a trustee appointment? (Anonymous post 🤫)
''For two years, I have been trying to get accountability for some disastrous management and Trustee actions for what was a very prudent small charity. Its the basis for this anonymous posting...
We've all heard and seen of when things go wrong at big charities. They make the national news. It is a time for celebration but things do go wrong at smaller charities, sometimes drastically so.
Staff and volunteers (and supporters) are usually the first to express concerns or to gather evidence together. Its possible to whistle-blow whilst employed and now to report concerns (to the Charities Commission) whilst being outside of a charity but my questions is -
Have CharityConnect members any advice for people who find themselves in the sort of situation above (and have found out how long the process can take - to get top-level investigation) - on what they can do directly to present their concerns and evidence to people who will take notice? This can mean going outside of Charity Management and a Charities' Trustees. Who do you go to? How do you approach them?''
