Does anyone need a Finance Mentor or help with any problems of being a charity trustee?

Does anybody need mentoring in Charity Finance, Risk Assessment or Governance? These 3 areas are particularly weak in the small charity sector. So many people start up or join a charity when the mood takes them but have only a hazy idea as to the legal responsibilities of being a charity or trustee. I'm happy to help anyone experiencing problems.

Affy Harris There are basically 2 types of Income - Restricted & Unrestricted. Restricted Income means that someone; either the grant maker or person that donated the money or gave you the grant made a restriction on that money hat it can only be spent for a specific purpose and nothing else! Unrestricted or General Reserves means monies that have been donated or earnt by the charity that can be spent on that charity's running or any project costs. It is not really complex once you get the hang of things but initially the biggest problem I faced was trying to decide if the money was a grant given to the charity for a specific project or a contract for services that the charity must reach certain targets. Now that one is a real minefield!
