I recently took over as chair of a small charity in wales. The ex chair left suddenly and refused to meet for a proper handover. They have stated they have handed over all the documents at an impromptu meet during a charity event, however we are missing things like the cheque book, membership paperwork, funding bids closed and current. And she has deleted an old google drive that contained charity document - and is refusing to recover the drive and transfer ownership!
There are concerns over her mental health status (anxiety and depression/stress) however her actions are now directly affecting our ability to run effectively.
Wondered if anyone had any advice or been in this situation before? Didn't want to get to formal or legal as they were a friend - but running out of options now.
