Ex trustee is impersonating our charity!

Governance

Richard Sharp Company Secretary at The St Briavels Assembly Rooms Ltd Posted 3 months ago

Hi
We have an ex Trustee who resigned from the charity in December 2023. This person has refused to hand over the website which they ran on behalf of the charity for many years. They will not return the website to us despite repeated requests. Also, they run a syndicate in their own name, the proceeds of which used to be paid to the charity. This stopped on their retirement. However, they continue to send out emails promoting the syndicate on behalf of the charity. They have recently added a copyright 2025 in our name.
We are a small Village Hall  and cannot afford legal costs which would likely cause upset in the community and we wonder if this is good use of the Charities funds. We welcome advice as to what we should do. We have contacted the Charity Commission but they couldn't help.
Regards, Richard
