- Is it common or recommended to appoint an "Advisory Trustee" for this purpose, even if not legally required?
- If we do expand our leadership or advisory team, are we obligated to inform our current funders?
Hi everyone,
I am the Director of a newly established CIC, currently managed by a board of two Directors. Through my research, I understand that we are not legally obligated to appoint "Trustees" (as we would for a registered charity); however, I am considering bringing in a third person to diversify our expertise and provide more robust oversight.
My goal is to bring in fresh perspectives to ensure the project is run as safely and effectively as possible.
I have two questions for the group:
I would appreciate any insights from those who have expanded their boards in the early stages.
Thank you.
