Hello everyone,

I've just stumbled across this community and look forward to getting to know new friends in the charity sector.  

Last summer (2018), I decided to leave my job in London, working in a high pressure environment, in the corporate sector.  So, I decided to take a year off and reflect.  

With the help of a great career coach and acting on a long term ambition to work for a non-profit, I've decided to take the plunge and start looking for fundraising roles.  

My background is in international sales and marketing, so I'm currently pulling apart my CV to show hiring managers how my experience can transfer to be of benefit, but my goodness I'm finding it hard!!

As a long term volunteer for various charities, I'm trying to use my network to see where my skills may be helpful.  Also, I recently became a member of The Institute of Fundraising following an introductory course I attended in March.

Any thoughts on what level of role I should be looking at realistically, based on the fact I have no fundraising experience (but plenty in business development and sales!), or CV pointers you guys could give me would be great?  I've read loads of the links which have given me some great tips!  

Are any of you attending the IoF first Thursday event in London today?  I'll be there, so maybe come and say hi?
