How are you quantifying 'soft skills' for your grant applications?

Hi everyone, can someone help with information about how to go about fundraising and getting donations. We are a new charity and haven't been able to get donations in. Secondly, I would like to know if we can launch a project when we are yet to be registered with HMRC although we have applied to HMRC and it's being processed.
