Handling home volunteer expenses? Printing costs, etc

Finance

A CharityConnect User Posted 5 years ago

Hi everyone. As a small newly formed charity we are still working through writing all our policies and we've hit a snag. How does everyone pay printing costs now that we're all working from home? We don't want to claim expenses for ink cartridges when we are all using our personal printers and will therefore be using the majority of a cartridge for personal use. The simplest solution seems to be a flat rate per page, but how to set that when printers differ so much? A flat rate also has the advantage of allowing funding bids to be calculated easily if we are including printed materials in a provision but no amount of googling has given any idea on a sensible 'going rate'. What does everyone else do?
