CharityConnect: Live Q&A: How can charities innovate when they are risk-averse?
Join CharityConnect members and Lucy Gower on Wednesday 31st January 2018 at 1-2pm GMT for our first LIVE Q&A!
** To take part, simply comment your questions or thoughts below, and Lucy will reply to you. **
In a rapidly changing world, charities are faced with the challenge of changing needs of beneficiaries and donors. In 20 years time, our communication methods with both donors and beneficiaries will need to adapt. Undoubtedly, the charity sector needs to embrace innovation. But, when funds are tight and charities are risk-averse, how can we innovate?
Charities are set up to solve important problems that often involve challenging current thinking and changing the status quo. However, an acute fear of failure means that despite all good intentions, charities just keep defaulting to doing more of the same.
How can you work with your team, your managers and your senior leaders to embrace innovation and its risks to make more impact for your beneficiaries?

The Q&A will cover the following topics:
- How to create an environment where innovation can flourish
- How to make embracing and learning from failure part of your team culture
- How you can influence up, down and across when it comes to innovation
- How to have the courage to try new things without always waiting for permission
