We are a counselling charity.
We're pretty well established now and financially secure for the moment.
My director is really keen to set up a training course. This would be quite involved, not a week here or there, but "proper" training, over a year or so. We have been given materials from a place in Ireland that is closing down as they are affiliated to an English uni and Irish law now states they have to have affiliation in Ireland which they don't want to pursue.
It's my opinion that this needs to run completely separately from our charitable works, indeed it has to break even or make a profit. So we need a business plan, and a budget and so on. She seems to think we can run this alongside our charity, but I have explained (repeatedly) all funds are currently restricted to our charitable works and she'll have to go out and raise funds to get this off the ground.
Anyone who has any knowledge of training and/or of what the legal obligations are and whether it can be aligned to our charity, I would be delighted to hear from you. I'm loathe to get involved as frankly don't want to add to my workload but I think shining some light on the idea would be very useful. Thank you.
