Bit of a weird question sorry but in the preamble for the existing Charity Scheme of my clients, the Scheme has a standard piece of text which says "In the matter of the Charities Act 1960."  I was just wondering if Schemes still say this because 1960 was the original act, although it has been amended since; or if they have the date of a more recent version of the Act; or if this sentence no longer appears.  (CIOs may have different text - the charities I am working with are unincorporated associations governed by charity scheme).
My clients presently have a joint governing document (the Scheme of one charity is embedded within the Scheme of the other) and we are trying to unpick this by applying to the Commission to separate them.  I have to give the 'existing and proposed wording' of each clause, so one charity will keep the existing preamble, but the other charity (the one whose scheme is embedded in the middle of the existing document) will have a brand new preamble, and I'm just not sure whether to replicate it as it stands including the 1960 reference, or if there is a more modern version?
Any help appreciated, and wish me luck with this one - I don't hold out much hope of getting the Schemes separated!
