I have opened an online Investment account whereby we will be able to invest in Investment Trust shares of our choice.  I have read that shares purchased using money from an account in a charity's name (i.e. Charity's money) will not incur payment of SDRT (0.5%). Is this an automatic exemption or we need at ask the online platform (i.e. the broker) to exempt us from such a tax. Our CIO is registered with the Charity Commission and recognised a charity by HMRC.
