Hi everyone,

We are hiring a screen, pa system and mic for a fundraising event we are holding. The hire company say they have to add VAT on regardless of whether we're a charity. As far as I can see, very limited types of charity can get VAT refunds. (We're an international development charity supporting education in Ethiopia). When we have bought event t-shirts in the past it's the company that removed the VAT from their invoices.

Does anyone know what we're entitled to request from the company in terms of VAT deductions, and what guidance we can point them to explaining that?
