HMRC allow a tax claim of £6 per week for working at home (without any evidence, if you want to claim more you can but it needs evidencing).
I have been wondering about whether this might be applicable to volunteers who might be working at home, or even trustees who are of course volunteers. Volunteers may be employed by someone for whom they do not volunteer and many who do not work still pay tax.
