Hello,

I set up my service in 2012 as a sole trader to provide care and support for those in social isolation. I have grown the service and was given the advice to become a Ltd company which I now know to have been bad advice. I now run a 5 day a week day service for those with dementia and extra care needs,  with a team of 8 paid staff and some volunteers. There is a lot of potential to have more positive social impact with our service model but require funding and a board to support its development. 

I have contacted several individuals within our community who have been involved and supported the centre over the past 5 years who have a range of useful skills and are happy to become trustees of a new structure of CIO

To aid the transition I would ideally like to stay on as CEO guided by the board for the first 3 years, do you think this is possible? Do you think it could this cause issues with the charity commission?

or would it be better to become a community interest company?
